Thanks for this Paul. Do you have similar steps for setting up with apache? First time, I installed apache and it worked fine, but after installing cf, apache wouldn't serve even html files, and uninstalling cf didn't fix it. I finally blew the machine away (new, didn't care), and haven't had a chance to try again. This is me googling for solutions before another run at it. Thanks again.

I have heard of Red5 ( http://osflash.org/red5 ) I think I once saw a demo of OpenDB talking to it with flashremoting I can't quite remember. If I can find the link I'll post it up.

Yea I've been digging thru your blog since seeing your screencast and that Railo(tm) stuff seems pretty interesting. I think I gotta eventually try that out... I was wondering if you knew of any open source projects equvilent to the "flash interactive media server"? I knew of a project a few years back i think it was called CodeRed or Red5 or something along that lines. I'm gonna go hunt it down now but any info you have would be helpful.

I don't know if this is anything you guys want to take on. It might not be the appropriate venue. I installed the win7 rc and initially had some issues with coldfusion 8.

After activating some windows components, and then reinstalling cf8 I thought I had fixed all the problems. After the initial install of cf8, and then clicking finish, the cf administrator running in wwwroot/cfide worked just fine. My problem is I have multiple websites that I run through coldfusion server, and none of those pages are visible to the cf server. I have double, and triple checked the directories to make sure the files are there, and they are.

I have been searching the net for the past week to see if there was anything posted about this particular problem, and have yet to find any reference to it.

Again I apologize if this is not the venue to come to.

Good to see there haven't been many compatibility issues with the upcoming Windows.

I recently did a writeup on Windows 7 and tested out XAMPP (Apache, MySQL, PHP Package) which works great.
